Twitter, Twitter On The Wall

Launched back in 2006 and seized upon by tech geeks everywhere, Twitter has grown in to the darling of the web due to its ultra clean interface, zero ads and complete openness with allowing other businesses to leverage it’s userbase. It’s become so big that it has even got giants like MySpace and Facebook running scared.

For such a simple concept it’s quite mind boggling that it has become such a huge success. You are given just 140 characters to tell people ‘what you are doing’. You can then follow other people and they can follow you back.

The jury is still very much out on whether it’s common courtesy to follow back anyone that starts to follow you. Many people still do this though so if you start following people, you will get many followers in return. The downside is that unless you choose to follow people who are interested in your chosen niche they will probably not click on any links that you share.

The ideal scenario is that you put your twitter address on your website and forum signatures and people begin to follow you automatically because they are interested in what you have to say. Remember, there is no requirement to follow someone if they follow you but do have a look and see if what they are tweeting is of any interest to you.

Once you have started to build up your gang of followers remember to treat them with a lot of respect, just like on a social network or forum, if you are constantly bombarding them with sales talk or links then you’ll find that your followers get reduced very quickly!

It’s important to come across as a person and to be yourself, share interesting information about yourself, tell people what you are up to or going to get up to and mix in promotions and marketing for your website amongst the other tweets. Also share links to other websites that you found genuinely useful because if people start to build up a trust that you are giving them great information they are much more likely to click on the links you provide.

When you post a link, use a service like bit.ly to shortern the URL, that way you’ve got space to tell people why they should click a link. Just like on social networking, giving people a personal comment will increase the click through rates.

You should also engage in a two way conversation as well, if people are posting useful information, go ahead and retweet it, if they see you are retweeting their posts, they will be much more inclined to go ahead and retweet whatever you are saying. It also builds up the relationship between you and your followers.

I like to think of twitter as the public version of my mailing list, you have to treat it with respect, share information and contribute but when needed it can be like your personal cash machine when you do promote something.

For most of the Internet marketing world, Twitter is used not just to make money but more important to build relationships and to generate highly targeted leads. Use it wisely it can be a powerful tool in your warchest or just waste of your time.

No matter how you do it, just adding contacts to your list will not give you the results you are looking for, exposing yourself using all the tools in your members area to get you seen more is important. It also helps to learn your way around the site and that is why the free membership version is the best way to go before upgrading.

Explore the site; see what it can do for you and how you can find your first lead or even first member for your business. And yes, no matter what business you are in, it will work for anybody as long as you are willing to spend the time necessary to make it work.

But all that will not do you anything good if you cannot offer or provide value to the community. Even if you find someone who is interested in what you are doing the next step for you is to make sure you got

a system in place to provide a lot more information about yourself and your purpose for doing what you are doing online. If you noticed I didn’t say business opportunity or similar, because that is where most members go into the wrong direction and spend too much time failing.

A believe of trying to sell an opportunity will not get you anywhere period. At the end of the day is not how many times you can pitch their opportunity on DirectMatches but rather finding the next big Superstar for your own Business or downline.

Match yourself with the active members and who knows maybe this would be the last networking site you ever will join. If done right, you will notice an increase in traffic, conversions and sales.

I use DirectMatches as a tool, a meeting place and broad cast place, I do like to interact with like minded people and this is a good place to be. But As I said before, a system must be in place to really get the most out of DirectMatches.

Don’t be mistaken, network marketing is not easy, people will stop paying attention to those who don’t know how to proper present themselves. Generating Leads from DirectMatches is possible, because I got my system in place for them to really understand what it takes to market online, no matter what biz they are in.

The founders of My Lead System Pro also known as MLSP had their first ever private event. Nestled in the mountains of Colorado in a breathtaking Mountain Chalet, all Leaders who reached the Leadership Level of L4 were invited to enjoy 4 days of fun and extreme master minding.

On Wednesday March 4th 2010 MLSP for the first time ever went live using the Ustream platform to broadcast their one hour show and it took away the breath of anyone who wanted to be there. The first half an hour was dedicated to all L4 Leadership members like Tracey Walker, Brandon Koon, Adam Chandler, Nicole Cooper, Kenny Gregg , Jim Chao to name a few. Questions were asked live via Twitter and the group answered them and viewers were able to get one question answered by each leader.

The different answers were mind blowing, to see all ways of approaching marketing online was like getting golden nuggets thrown at you. But some of the answers were very similar, especially when it comes to connecting with Prospects.

When it comes to talking to prospects, each and every one of the leaders said the same thing; the most important thing is to connect with your lead. Call them within 24 hours, they gave you the number and you need to see it as a cry for help. And take this and go for it with confidence.
It is an art talking to prospects but in order to learn you need to do it. And don’t forget to listen, the prospect is a person and you as the marketer need to understand and find a solution for their problems.

Another great question was productivity and what to do. And within the group everyone said to plan out your day every day. Stick to your plan no matter what marketing strategy you go after. Be consistent don’t do it just once, do it every day, period.

So how can top producers leverage MLSP for their primary business?

Never forget MLSP is not a business it is a training platform as generic as it can get. With one thing in mind, never ever stop being a student. Learn from a community of like minded and successful people and you will be on your way to success, like the leaders in the level 4 leadership group.
